     Frequently Asked Questions
  1. What is the size and weight of the Baiter? The Baiter weighs 90 pounds empty. It is 12 x 18 x 48 inches.
  2. How does the Baiter operate? There are six components which store the bait once loaded. A timer controls the locks for each compartment. Once set, one or two doors will open each day at your specified time and then lock at your specified time, protecting the bait during the evening and night hours.
  3. How much bait does each compartment hold? About 30 pounds or 3/4 of a 5 gallon pail per compartment.
  4. What bait can be used? Anything solid such as corn, oats, dog food, suet or doughnuts.
  5. How do you get the baiter to the bait site? There are four handles on the back of the baiter allowing for transportation in one of two ways. Either, two people can carry it, or one person can carry it in back pack style by attaching ratchet straps (top to bottom) to the handles.
  6. How does the scent dispenser work? Each time a door opens, the dispenser shoots the liquid scent approximately 20 feet into the air, dispersing the scent. The dispenser holds approximately 20 ounces of liquid scent.
  7. What powers the Baiter? The Baiter uses a 12 volt battery which should be changed out once a week when you replace the bait, although the battery will last up to two weeks.
  8. How do you prevent bears from moving or displacing the Baiter? Using ratchet straps or chains and the handles on the back, you secure the baiter to a live tree approximately 6 - 10 inches in diameter.
